"Manual" removal of whatever is installed by an extension requires understanding of the extension's manifest file and the _extensions table. Installing the plugin, of course, adds one record to the _extensions table but that's all, as far as I'm aware. The plugin (as far as I'm aware) does not add any tables to the database. I then uninstalled the plugin and all of its files were removed. I installed JCH_Optimize (on a test site) for the purposes of identifying the files that it installed.
